1. Bản chất & Tổng quan lý thuyết
Cấu trúc song hành (Parallelism / Parallel Structure) là nguyên lý ngữ pháp và tu từ học đòi hỏi các thành phần ngữ pháp có chức năng tương đương trong cùng một câu phải có cùng một cấu trúc và hình thái từ loại.
Tầm quan trọng của Cấu trúc song hành:
- Tính nhịp điệu và thẩm mỹ học thuật: Giúp câu văn cân xứng, rõ ràng, dễ đọc và tạo ấn tượng chuyên nghiệp.
- Tránh sự khập khiễng cú pháp: Ngăn ngừa việc ngắt mạch tư duy của người đọc khi liệt kê danh sách các hành động hoặc ý niệm.
- Tiêu chuẩn bắt buộc trong IELTS Writing Band 8.0+ và bài thi SAT/GMAT Writing.

- Cấu trúc đề xuất giải pháp:
"To tackle traffic congestion, municipal authorities should expand public transport networks, subsidize bus fares, and impose congestion charges." (Cả 3 hành động đều dùng động từ nguyên mẫu: expand, subsidize, impose).
3. Phân tích lỗi sai kinh điển (Common Pitfalls)
- Lỗi lệch từ loại khi liệt kê danh sách:
- Sai: The program is efficient, economical, and it saves time. (Tính từ, Tính từ, Mệnh đề).
- Đúng: The program is efficient, economical, and time-saving. (Cả 3 đều là Tính từ).
- Lỗi đặt sai vị trí thành phần sau 'Not only... but also':
- Sai: The manager not only praised Nam for his effort but also his creativity.
- Đúng: The manager praised Nam not only for his effort but also for his creativity.
4. Tips thực chiến & Chiến thuật phòng thi
- Mẹo rà soát song hành (Audit Check): Khi viết câu có liên từ and, or, but, not only... but also, hãy kẻ cột các thành phần trước và sau liên từ xem chúng có cùng hình thái (
V-ingvớiV-ing,NounvớiNoun,AdjvớiAdj) hay không. - Nếu vế A là một cụm giới từ (
in the morning), vế B cũng bắt buộc phải là một cụm giới từ (in the evening).
